Conflict Resolution Day Events
The Mediation & Conflict Resolution Center at Howard Community College
The Mediation & Conflict Resolution Center at Howard Community College will host CR Day in the lobby of Duncan Hall and on the quad, from 11 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.:
Theme: What is Conflict Resolution, anyway? Peacemaking, that’s all.
- Chalk for Peace – Led by Rouse Scholar students, this will be a chance to leave your mark on campus! Draw or write about what peace looks like to you!
- Peace Chain – Led by MCRC volunteer mediators, we will start a new tradition: making a paper chain with individual thoughts on each link about what peace means to you. Each year, we will add new links to the chain and display it.
- Free Food! – donated by MCRC volunteers!
- Slide Show and Lobby Music – Enjoy the beat of conflict-free relationships as you try to spot yourself or a friend collaborating on campus! Spot yourself and win a t-shirt!
- Introducing the new Student Peace Alliance! Students from Intro to Conflict Resolution have started a new campus group: the SPA! Get information and sign up at the SPA table, run by the founding students.
- Information about Careers in Conflict Resolution beginning with the HCC AA Degree in Conflict Resolution
Community Mediation at Allegany Conflict Resolution Center
This educational event is designed to help create a peaceful society, so come learn about this conflict-resolving community concept that is practical and is becoming a reality here in our own community.
Please join with us and Keynote Speaker Mayor Lee Fiedler and other special guests in celebrating progress being made toward a more peaceful society and to take stock and re-commit ourselves to address the many challenges that remain.
